Mohamed al-Kurd, patriarch of the al-Kurd family, passed away at the height of his family's battle to regain their home from Israeli settlers. The fate of the al-Kurd family and their neighbors in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of East Jerusalem, is uncertain.
