| Happy Palestinian Independence Day!
Today Palestinians should celebrate their independance day, to tell you the truth I didn't see them celebrating. You may ask why? I chose to bring you the last report of the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights that shows Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) launch more attacks on Palestinian civilians and property in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT).

12 year old Ahmad Ismail El Hatib was shot by the Israeli Army in Jenin last Thursday, on the first day of the Fiter holiday. On Sunday, his organs were transplanted in the bodies of six Israelis.

The first ? the official judicial system of the state of Israel, based on parliamentary law; The second ? the military judicial system overseen by the IDF and the Civil Administration in the occupied territories, and founded on the Emergency Laws dating back to the time of he British Mandate.

15 September ? 15 October 2005
Hebron Region
On 15th September, settlers from Susiya settlement, south east of
Yatta, renewed their attacks against shepherds from Susiya village.
Mohammed Naser Nawaj?a, Local Council member, reported that ?a few days
ago the settlers renewed their attacks against shepherds, preventing
them entering their land.. Yesterday, five armed settlers attacked and
beat up Mohammed Ali Huriani, forcing him to leave his land with his
goats and sheep.

| The Quiet Occupation
One of the difficulties in writing regularly about the
Israeli-Palestinian conflict is, in my eyes, that so little ever
changes. The basic constants ? above all, Israel's overwhelming
military, economic, and political superiority, all serving its
colonialist aims ? change slightly over years, if at all. The media
concentrate on immediate episodes: a violent incident, a statement, a
peace plan ? but in hindsight, they all make very little difference. |
