An Israeli Visiting the Deheishe Refugee Camp

Deheishe is one of the five largest refugee camps of the West Bank, but is still rather small having ? according to UNRWA - less than 12,000 registered refugees. It is similar in size to a small Israeli town. I didn't quite know what to expect when I left Jerusalem. Those foreigners ? like me - who expect refugee camps to be large fields with many crowded tents would be surprised.

It is a Racist, Religionist world

Self - hating religionists and racists are the worst of a bad lot, as they usually spearhead negative campaigns against their own communities. Humans are created equal and must be treated equally. This is a basic and familiar teaching of moralists, ethicists and world's religions.

Quartet to PNA: Disarm, to Israel: Stop Settlements

The Middle East Quartet of the US, the UN, the EU and Russia meeting in New York on Tuesday urged that Israel ?must stop? settlements and the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) to disarm factions, and to intensify contacts at all levels, amid reports that US President Bush is pushing for the declaration of a temporary Palestinian state in the Gaza Strip.

Sharon's Plan for Palestine

Sharon is trying to politically deligitimize Hamas by keeping it out of the elections, while demonizing Abu Mazen for not cracking down on ?terror? and using the excuse of having ?no partner for peace? as a ploy to further expand settlements, the Apartheid Wall, and to impose greater restrictions on Palestinian life in the West Bank, and East Jerusalem.
