Winning entrepreneur
Colombian director, Gabriel Zapata, scooped first prize at our new International Young Performing Arts Entrepreneur Award at an industry-wide ceremony in Edinburgh on 6 August, beating competition from eight other countries around the world.

Speaking volumes
Three writers from Kolkata appeared at this year’s Edinburgh International Book Festival as part of the British Council’s showcase for contemporary British literature. The Bookcase took place from 14 to 18 August, with 80 delegates from 35 countries.
