Help
Q: I can't see a stream A: The Streams are in mpg1 format, you will need a media player plug-in for you webbroser
Q: Which plugin should i use? A: Check if you have Quicktime installed. If not, download the free plugin here
Q: Can't i use the Windows Media Player? A: If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer as web browser, mpeg streams tend to stop and are not very stable, also Windows Media Player is not compatible with Firefox. Use Quicktime.
Q: I use Firefox on Windows XP, and it asks me to install a plugin, but i have Quicktime already installed A: Close Firefox, right click on the Qicktime icon in the taskbar and open it, go to the "Browser Plug-in" Tab, Click on "MIME Types" and associate mpeg files to Quicktime.
Q: I'm running a GNU/Linux OS what do I need? A: Use Firefox with the MediaplayerConnectivity addon and Mplayer as movie player.
Q: How can i watch the cilps in full screen?
A: Copy the link "media file URL" [right click - copy link location],
open your preferred media player and choose "Open Location" or "Open
URL" and paste the link. Now you can adjust the screen dimensions and
aspect ratio in your media player application.
Q: What streaming technique do you use? A: Our streaming server runs a debian GNU/Linux OS with a special patched version of the GNUmp3d streaming server. All used software is released in terms of the GPL. The clips are compressed in mpeg1 format (dimensions: 352x288 pixels, average bitrate: ~800b/s, video codec: libmpg, audio codec: libmad) for maximum compatibility on all common OS.
Q: Where can i browse all the clips you offer? A: here
Q: The streams do not work! it always stops. A: To watch the clips in streaming mode, you will need a broadband internet connection with a real downstream of 200 kbit/s (0.2 Mbit/s). However users reported that a real downstream speed of 120kbit/s is enough to get a stable stream. If you do not have a broadband connection, use the "download file" link to save the file on your local disk.
Q: Am i allowed to make public sceenings or derivative works? A: We would be delighted to see our materials used widely for non-commercial purposes. You may reproduce every clip appearing on this websites free of charge without specific permission. For further Information see the legal Text of the Creatrive Commons License.
Q: It still does not work :( where can i find more help?
