Interested in Palestine and Israel?

Join the staff of the Alternative Information Center (AIC) for a 3 months internship. Interns become an integral part of our work, learn about the Israel-Palestine conflict and societies, and gain valuable training in editorial production, internet publication, and administration.

Magazines  Responsibilities
The intern assists the editors in producing the AIC Magazines: News From Within, in English; Rouyah Oukhra, in Arabic; and Mitsad Sheni, in Hebrew;

Depending on skills, this may include light research and writing, proofreading, outreach, processing orders for back issues from organizations and individuals, and maintaining the magazine archives. Interns also assist in procuring photographs and securing reports and documents. For people interested in learning how a paper or electronical magazine is produced, from start to finish.

Web - Responsibilities
Our Website is based on a Content Management System for an easy updating and maintaining process, however good php and html scills are mandatory. You will be responsible for colleting and posting articles from our staff members in hebrew, arabic & english, management of the mailinglists, RSS Feeds, podcasts, ect.

Administrative Intern Responsibilities
The intern assists the financial manager and office manager in implementing office management, business and circulation strategies, and maintaining personnel files and library databases. Provides experience in administering the business side of a nonprofit organization.

General Responsibilities
All interns share in general office work: answering telephones, photocopying, preparing outgoing mail, running errands and assisting staff members in special projects. Interns also participate in staff meetings and may be asked to attend and/or staff a table at events.

Minimum Commitment
3 months, 20 hours per week.
