Four Israeli settlers were killed in their car Tuesday (31 August)  in the South Hebron Hills, near the occupied West Bank city of Hebron and the settlement of Kiryat Arba.The Islamic organization Hamas has claimed responsibility for the shooting attack saying, “Qassam Brigades announces its full responsibility for the heroic operation in Hebron."

Israel's leading theater companies have agreed to perform in the new cultural center in the West Bank settlement of Ariel, according to an article in Israeli news daily Haaretz, but two actors from Habima, the national theatre, have already refused to perform.

Yesterday (24 August) Abdallah Abu Rahmah, the coordinator of the Bil'in Popular Committee, was convicted of incitement and organizing illegal marches by an Israeli military court. The conviction concluded an eight months long political show trial, during which he was kept behind bars.
