In May 2010 Israel ascended to the Organisation for Economic Co-coperation and Development (OECD). OECD acceptance of Israel as a member of this prestigious group of "democratic" countries was a significant political decision which provides international support for Israel's foreign and military policies and blatantly ignores Israeli violations of Palestinian human and collective rights.
Israel and the OECD examines the processes leading up to Israel's ascension to the OECD, including a detailed analysis of the false and misleading economic data presented by Israel to gain acceptance; a review of why OECD member countries did not object to Israel's ascension; what Israel will gain from OECD membership; local and international protests against Israel's acceptance; and possible repercussions of Israel's membership.
