Dozens of Israeli settlers from settlements in the northern West Bank gathered at the Za'atara checkpoint south of Nablus and marched to the nearby Huwara checkpoint. During the march they stoned numerous cars driven by Palestinians and threw rocks at shops and houses in the village of Huwara.
Local residents report that the windows and windshields of some 30 cars were damaged by the settlers.
The Israeli press reports that a 35-year-old Palestinian was shot to death near the Nablus-area settlement of Zemer. A 16-year-old Palestinian boy was also injured. The circumstances of the shooting are still being investigated.
In the southern West Bank, dozens of settlers from the Hebron-area settlement of Beit Hagai organised a demonstration on the main road, Road 60. Several cars were stoned and the road was closed to traffic at several points.
