A Palestinian teen was killed today in the Hebron area.
Omar Yousef Jawabra was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon in Hebron-area refugee camp of Al Arroub. Israeli soldiers shot the 16-year-old in the chest during clashes with students in Al Arroub, home to over 10,000 Palestinian refugees.
Jawabra was rushed to Hebron's Al Mizan hospital, where his death was declared.
Eyewitnesses told Palestinian press that the soldiers were in no imminent danger when they killed Jawabra.
Dozens of people in the camp were further affected by the copious amount of tear gas shot by soldiers during the clashes.
In other news, thousands of Palestinians are under complete closure in the Bethlehem-area village of Nahhalin, which Israel declared a closed military zone following yesterday's stabbing of a settler from the nearby settlement of Neve Daniel. All entrances to the village, including unpaved agricultural roads, have been blocked with roadblocks and checkpoints, and the Nahhalin local council reports that life has come to a stand-still and even humanitarian cases are prevented from leaving the village.
