After the success of the 11th International camp during past Christmas, we are glad to invite you to the Spring edition of the International Political Field Seminar "Bridges instead of Walls" – taking place from the 10th to the 15th March 2012 in Palestine!
The AIC is based in Beit Sahour/Bethlehem. The group will move every day departing from Beit Sahour and come back every night to the guesthouse right next the AIC Center. The seminar includes lectures, interactive meetings with several civil society actors, political figures and partner organizations as well as tours in many different locations of the West Bank and Israel. During our 6 full-program days the participants will get an intensive and critical overview of the political and economical aspects of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict as well as of the Palestinian and Israeli societies. We try to cover all the crucial issues to understand the roots of the conflict and the current developments: the history of the conflict and the peace process, the political strategy of the occupation and its economic effects, the structure of the Israeli society and the big challenges of Palestinian society such as the economic development and the resistance under occupation, as well as issues such as the political repression, the human rights and the role of the international community.

The Alternative Information Center (AIC) warmly invites you to its 12th International Political Field Camp, Bridges Instead of Walls, taking place from March 10-15, 2012.

Bridges Instead of Walls is an intense, six-day program that offers internationals an unique opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the realities of life under Israeli occupation, grassroots resistance to Israeli colonialism, and both Palestinian and Israeli society. Participants will experience the various struggles and contradictions of this land, and meet activists, politicians, and intellectuals who are experts in their respective fields.


The program, which is based in Beit Sahour (Bethlehem), includes visits to Palestinian refugee camps, a tour of the separation barrier, discussions and lectures on the economic, social, and political aspects of Israel's occupation, and meetings with local organizations as well as Israeli and Palestinian activists. Participants learn about many of the critical issues that perpetuate the regional conflict and about how they can play a key role in international advocacy campaigns.


The cost of Bridges Instead of Walls is 400 EUR (2000 NIS), which includes all programme related-costs. Travel to the region and health insurance are not included.
