Internships at the Alternative Information Center provide a singular space and opportunity for international activists and researchers to learn about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and social issues within Palestinian and Israeli societies, and to contribute to the forging of a just peace and join life of peace for all in the region.

 

The following internship is currently available at the AIC:


JOURNALISM INTERN 


Working closely with the website coordinator and other AIC staff members, the intern responsibilities will include:

  • Writing of news pieces based on primary and secondary sources;
  • Research in support of news pieces and longer feature articles;
  • Assisting in the conceptualization, research and writing of feature articles;
  • Helping in the creation of photo galleries;
  • Other issues as agreed upon;

 

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and issues of relevance to Palestinian and Israeli societies;
  • Strong writing and research skills;
  • Native language English – sorry, no exceptions;
  • Positive interpersonal skills and able to work with a wide variety of people;
  • Desire to learn and contribute

 

Details: The starting date is September 2010, for a minimum period of three months. This internship is 20 hours weekly and may be conducted from either the Beit Sahour or Jerusalem offices of the AIC. This is an unpaid internship.
