by Jihad Shomaly, Juvenile justice coordinator for DCI Palestine
Defence for Children International/Palestine Section (DCI/PS), is an independent
Palestinian NGO established in 1992 to promote and protect the rights of
Palestinian children.
DCI/PS is affiliated to Defence for Children
International (DCI), established in 1979 as a non-governmental organization and
developed over the years into a global child rights movement, with 45
independent national sections and associated members throughout the world and an
international secretariat in Geneva. DCI has consultative status with the United
Nations Economic and Social Council, UNICEF, UNESCO, and the Council of
Europe.
