Presentation: Highlights of a
year in Palestine, a goodbye (but she will be back!)
folllowed by music
concert: Doreen, Johanna and Raed
In October 2006 Kristel (from Holland) arrived to
Palestine for the YMCA Olive Picking Program. After the program she decided to
stay longer and set up a political cafe in the Alternative Information Center.
The opening of the AICafe was in December 2006, a few days before Kristel left
to finish her studies in Holland.
Since July 2007 she is back and she has been
working on the program and publicity for the AICafe events.
Besides that, Kristel travelled around the Westbank to support small projects
and organizations and to set up a network for the Portal to Palestine, an initiative that
aims to facilitate the stay of new visitors and volunteers in Palestine
and encourage them to do advocacy work back home.
After working one year in the AICafe she will leave
to start her new job as the coordinator for the Olive Tree Campaign in Holland.
For sure she will be back in October for the Olive Harvest!
This night she will share with us her
experiences of a year's stay in Palestine!
With many photos and good stories!
The AICafe is open on Tuesday and Saturday night from 7pm. It is
located in the Alternative Information Center in Beit Sahour, close to Suq a
Shaab square (follow the sign to Jadal Center) We have a small library with both
novels and political books and magazines. Phone number; 02
