| summary |
More than 3 years after the first World Social Forum in Porto Alegre, Brazil, the alternative globalisation movement (AGM) has become an important global force with participants and constituents from most corners of the world. Why is it then that Israeli and Palestinian discourse and action around the AG agenda is still somewhat limited? This is one of the pivotal questions around which the present survey is organised.
While this survey does not propose solutions to the barriers which these organisations face, it does offer some limited next steps. Moreover, it is the hope of the authors that the findings of this survey can be used to strategise amongst both Israeli and Palestinian organisations for a more coordinated presence and better integration in the world movement for AG. In the future, existing advocacy for Palestinian rights and regional justice and equality should be placed, and understood, within this context.
